Jeff Short

Jeff Short is the owner of SERVPRO of Ames. He has certifications from the Institute of Inspection Cleaning and Certification  (IICRC) in water, mold and fire. He believes in honesty and hard work. His community involvements include the Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and Mentor Iowa. He likes to spend time with his family, and enjoys youth sports coaching in baseball and football, loves fishing, and the outdoors. He is a supporter of Iowa State University athletics and the Chicago Cubs.

John Alessio

John Alessio is the General Manager for SERVPRO of Ames. He is certified in carpet cleaning and water damage restoration. His more than 20 years of experience in the cleaning and restoration industry include ownership of a carpet cleaning business and a janitorial business. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, coaching youth club softball and volleyball, and spending time with his wife and four daughters. What he likes most about working at SERVPRO are the people and the new work experiences each day brings. His forte is keeping things organized and making sure workflow is smooth.

Lori Newhouse

Lori is our Office Manager at SERVPRO. She has over ten years of experience in office operations and customer service. She has spent time in the field as a SERVPRO Tech, which gives her experience in water restoration, fire restoration, demolition, and reconstruction work.

Lori believes in always staying positive and loves to cheer on the team at SERVPRO.

In her free time, she loves hanging out with her family, playing with her dog, and doing DIY projects around the house. She is involved in youth sports and supports animal rehabilitation and rescue.

Carrie Bartmess

Carrie Bartmess is our Project Manager and is certified in water damage restoration and fire and smoke restoration. She grew up in Nevada and has experience with roofing and remodeling. She enjoys swimming and hiking with her husband and kids at area parks like Ledges, Big Creek and Soper's Mill. Her favorite aspect of working at SERVPRO of Ames is the constant problem-solving and different variables that each situation presents. She likes the continual learning that comes from the stimulating and challenging work.
